A reminder from the City of Covina that non-essential and non-public safety offices will be closed for select days during and around the 2015 Christmas and New Year holidays.

City Hall, Parks & Recreation (Hollenbeck Office), Joslyn Center, and the Public Works Yard will be closed as follows:

  • Thursday, December 24
  • Friday, December 25
  • Thursday, December 31
  • Friday, January 1

The Covina Public Library will be closed as follows:

  • Thursday, December 24
  • Friday, December 25
  • Saturday, December 26
  • Thursday, December 31
  • Friday, January 1

(Library will be open on Saturday, January 2)

City of Covina employees will be on unpaid lave unless they use their accrued paid time off (PTO).

Veteran municipal executive and attorney Andrea M. Miller has been selected as the new city manager of Covina following a unanimous 5-0 vote by the City Council in a closed-door session Tuesday night.

Electric Vehicle Chargers Now Open! PDF Print E-mail

023-smThe Electric Vehicle Charging Station in the Civic Center parking structure is now open for use!  

Located at 124 E. College St, Covina, CA.

The dual port system can charge two vehicles simultaneously.

The chargers have varying charge times that can be paid through the use of a personal credit card or by requesting a Chargepoint card, which can be loaded with funds similar to a pre-paid debit card. Customers will be charged a per kilowatt hour (kWh) rate that coincides with Southern California Edison’s (SCE) kWh rate.

More Low-Income SoCalGas Customers Eligible for Bill-Assistance Programs PDF Print E-mail

socalgas logo webIncreased Income Guidelines Expand Eligibility

The CARE program provides a 20 percent rate discount on the monthly natural gas bill for eligible households.  Those who qualify and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge.

The Energy Savings Assistance Program provides no-cost, energy-efficient home improvements to income-qualified renters and homeowners.  

Now, more SoCalGas customers are eligible to take part in these state-sponsored, money-saving, no-cost customer assistance programs as a result of updated income guidelines that went into effect on June 1.
