The mission of the Engineering Section is to ensure quality design, oversight, construction, and renovation of the City’s infrastructure to secure a high quality of life for Covina’s residents, businesses and visitors.
Issuing permits for projects affecting the public right-of-way.
Inspecting non-City projects that affect the public right-of-way.
Providing information to the public about future improvements.
Providing information regarding flood mapping, aerial photography, property lines and lot dimensions as well as parkway widths, centerline ties, etc.
Designing City street and sidewalk improvements and establishing the plans and specifications for City Capital Improvement Projects.
Public Improvements and Projects
Glendora Avenue and Cienega Street Traffic Signal. Prokect No. T-0733. City Council awarded the project to California Professional Engineering and was recently completed.
Pedestrian and Metrolink Station Improvements Project, Federal Project No. HOLUL-5118 (016), Project No. T-0814B. City Council awarded the project to Hillcrest Contracting and is now substantially complete.
- Improvement at the intersection of Workman Street and Hollenbeck Avenue, Project No. T-1407. City Council awarded the project to Excel Paving; anticipated start of construction is mid-November.
