PARADE APPLICATIONS 

The entry deadline has passed for the 2014 Parade.  If you would like to be placed on the mailing list for next year's parade, please email your name and address to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

PARADE ROUTE:  

The Parade officially begins at Citrus Avenue & Badillo Street, travels west on Badillo Street to Hollenbeck Avenue, turns south on Hollenbeck Avenue to Puente Street.

STREET CLOSURE INFORMATION

The streets around the Parade route close to vehicular traffic beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Parade day.  Please click here for map and resident access information.  For 2014, due to construction at District Field on Puente Street, there may be changes to street closure information.  The City will provide that information as soon as it is confirmed.

For Parade status, please call (626) 384-5400, extension 5903.  In the event of inclement weather on Parade day, a cancellation decision would be made by 1 p.m. and information posted on the Parade Information Line, as well as on this webpage.

CHILDREN’S COOKIE HOUSE EVENT WITH VISIT FROM SANTA
Santa will join us once again for this annual event! Children will make wonderful cookie houses that include the use of royal icing and vibrantly colored candies. Then it’s off to see Santa Claus (parents…please bring your cameras). Preregistration is required. Limited to the first 100 children. Recommended for ages 5-12. Parent supervision is required at all times during the event. Last year’s event sold out in one day, so register early!  Call the Parks & Recreation Department at (626) 384-5340 to register.

All children’s events are sponsored by The Friends of the Covina Public Library. All events are on a first-come, first served basis. Participants may begin lining up outside the Community Room, no earlier than one-half hour prior to the performance or event.

IT’S A LEGO PARTY!

It’s free play time at the Library! There will be hundreds of LEGO and DUPLO pieces so children can build whatever is on their creative minds. They may also participate in LEGO building contests that test their skills and imagination. Limited to the first 40 participants per session.

THE WOLF WHO CRIED “BOY!” MAGIC PUPPET SHOW

Where is he? Willie the Wolf and his wolf friends are looking for dinner. Dinner? The Boy must get away before he is caught and served with a side salad! But when the Boy sees Willie who is hurt, he helps the wolf in his time of need. Now, Willie the Wolf realizes he has a new friend and must protect him by convincing the other wolves that he is a friend, not food, and that friends help each other.

Join us for a wild adventure with John Abrams’ Animal Magic Show! You’ll laugh and scream with John’s zany blend of magic, comedy, music, and live exotic pets in an entertainment experience guaranteed to amaze the entire family!

BUBBLE-OLOGY 101
Learn about the science of bubbles. In this program we study the real life applications of bubble
technology from military applications, to medical technology, nuclear physics and even the everyday light bulb. We learn the ways of the Bubble through matter, structure, energy, light refractionand change. Big Scientific principles are applied and children learn through the fun of bubbles. Some participants will be put inside a large bubble!
